Savannah Mall Launches New Web Site Designed To Better Communicate Customer-facing Happenings

SAVANNAH Georgia (January 29, 2009) -- A new Savannah Mall Web site is announced today. Showcasing the high-spirited energy and optimism of the southside mall's new owners, the new Web site -- http://www.savannahmall.com -- will serve to better communicate Savannah Mall's customer-facing initiatives.

"Our new website is fabulous! It is bright, cheery, and easy to navigate. We want the new Savannah Mall Web site to not only be a resource for customers but a place to announce the fun community events we have the privilege to host," shares Senea Crystal, marketing director.

The new SavannahMall.com marks the next stage of the southside mall's transformation to share its revitalized, community-centric shopping experience. Crystal advises, "The new communications tool will serve as a "one-stop" portal to provide a continual overview of Savannah Mall shops, special promotions and activities."

"Beyond cost-efficiency that the Internet affords, the speed of web-based communications allows Savannah Mall to outreach more rapidly and more often," reiterates Ms. Crystal. "We are eager to work smarter and optimistically to encourage the residents in southeast Georgia and South Carolina to DISCOVER MORE at Savannah Mall's stores. Seniors, families and children love the optimal safe, comfortable, relaxing experience inside the mall."

"By signing up for our online news -- at the link BE IN THE KNOW -- folks can be immediately informed of sales, insider tips, and special events," shares Crystal. "As good neighbors, Savannah Mall rallies the support of our store managers and corporate media folks to encourage participation when we host an event. We use our Internet tools also to assist many nonprofit organizations, especially those who do not have the budget to outreach on their own," Crystal shares.

With the food court, indoor carousel and expanded center court, Savannah Mall is a preferred setting for family friendly events, regardless of the weather. "Time and time again, Savannah Mall has responded to support the citizens in southeast Georgia and South Carolina," reports Crystal. "The most popular events include Angela Beasley's Puppet People, Let's Dance, Savannah!, Healing Field flag display with the R.O.C.K. Group, the Safe Kids event with U.S. Marshalls' office, the Savannah Morning News's Ultimate Yard Sale, a number of baby shower events with Amerigroup, and regular meetings of the Savannah Small Business Chamber."

"On our new Web site we have posted a simplified form to speed and simplify the process to request Savannah Mall to host a community, business and nonprofit event," reports Crystal. "We listen and respond to what our shoppers want and expect. Improving the mall's Web site is simply Savannah Mall's latest initiative to do ALL that we do EVEN better," Ms. Crystal concludes.

Cops, Race Cars, Motorcycles and Firemen, Oh My! at Savannah Mall

SAVANNAH Georgia (January 14, 2009) -- Energized and devoted to altering the scary trend of teen deaths on the highway, veteran law enforcement officer Jim Griner launches the inaugural COPS-CAIR (Cops Against Illegal Racing) event at Savannah Mall on January 31. "COPS-CAIR is congregating positive role models, impressive cars and motorcycles in a lighthearted family environment -- complimented with music, food, great folks and information, area law enforcement and fire personnel -- to convey proactive driver safety information in a friendly, caring fashion," shares Mr. Griner.

The heartbreaking statistics highlight the importance of the COPS-CAIR outreach event. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teens in the US
- Each year, more than 5,000 teens (ages 16-20) are killed in passenger vehicle crashes.
- During 2006, a teen died in a traffic crash an average of once every hour on weekends and nearly once every two hours during the week.
- Nationally in 2006, 25 percent of the young drivers ages 15-20 who were killed in crashes had Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels of .08 or higher at the time of the crash.
Nationally in 2006, 4,842 teen passenger vehicle occupants, ages 16 to 20, were killed in motor vehicle crashes, and 58 percent (2,813) were unrestrained at the time of the fatal crash.
Teenage drivers and passengers are among those least likely to wear their seat belts.
While all teens are at a high-risk of experiencing a fatal crash, young males, pickup truck drivers and passengers, as well as people living in rural areas are also among those least likely to buckle up.
The show is hosted by the Savannah Mall and will be held outside the Bass Pro Shops Store from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday, January 31. On-site registration begins at 8:00 AM.

Bill Edwards from 1290AM radio, Low Country Customs and SuperBike Specialties are participating. The U.S. Army National Guard will be bringing their climbing wall and their "Patriot Hummer" and their Custom Chopper built by Orange County Choppers (made famous on the TV show, American Choppers). Music, door prizes, food, raffle and merchandise will also be available.

The entry fee for the automobile and motorcyle contests is $20.00 prior to January 15, 2009. The entry fee after January 15 and on the day of the event is $30.00. Applications are available online at copscair.org. All proceeds benefit ongoing COPS C.A.I.R. outreach.
