Tenacious Woman Business Conference

Looking to get your business in front of Savannah's movers and shakers? Want to be in the Center Court of Savannah Mall at a price you can afford? Then exhibit at the Tenacious Woman Conference. On June 17 Savannah leaders, entrepreneurs and business owners from throughout the southeast will ascend on the Mall to learn and network with the best-of-the-best. The conference will run from 10 am to 8:30 p.m. and will feature workshops, lunch, evening networking and a one-on-one consulting segment that likens itself to Business "Speed Dating".

The conference keynote speaker will be Jewel Daniels. Daniels is a local businesswoman and author of the book It Takes Tenacity, 15 Power Moves to Survive the Wilderness and Weather the Economic Storm, which inspired the conference. Daniels is a graduate of Hampton University, NYU's Public Relations Institute, and holds the honor of being the first African American accepted at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. She got the idea for the conference and approached Senea Crystal, marketing manager at Savannah Mall, seeing it as a great location for business and fun. Crystal, who was just named a Top Ten Woman In Business by A Working Woman in Need, loved the concept and was immediately on board. So the two women joined forces with a goal of mentoring and inspiring the next wave. Since that time the conference has exceeded both of their first year expectations. The City of Savannah has joined in, along with business communications leaders such Clear Channel Communications, WJCL, the Savannah Morning News, LaVoz Latina and Skirt Magazine. "The enthusiasm and support has been wonderful, there is obviously a pent-up demand from the women in Savannah wanting to help and inspire one another in this tough economy," said Crystal.

Daniels is particularly excited about Business Speed Dating. Once the workshops conclude, conference attendees will be able to meet one-on-one with the presenters and ask questions regarding their business and careers that they might not feel comfortable raising in a group setting.
